Really like the way opening the oreo introduces the fantasy in these Buck spots
Added the glitches back in. This is both an audio cue and a visual cue. Both the sounds and visual signal cues were controlled via ChucK and had to be migrated to C code. This meant both timing behavior AND DSP code. I actually went through the ChucK source code for LPF to make sure the DSP algorithms were identical. Luckily it was only biquads, so no heavy lifting.
The visual cues caused the individual rectangles to blink. My inspiration for this behavior came from fluorescent light bulbs. Specifically, the one in my budget on-campus apartment bathroom at the time.
Cheap lights and Rothko sums up the inspiration for this thing. Nothing too much more beyond that, but that is fine by me.
This is pretty much it! The original version also had an optional interactive mode via a Queneo midi controller that I used once for a performance, but honestly I much prefer to just let this thing disappear in the background.
Damn, it feels great to finally have this in a form that's slightly easier to compile + run. I have good memories working on this.
