Interesting project. Even though there's no really or I like the way the illustrations convey the sense of movement and the concept of "no potential" behind the project.

The style is awesome anyways.

I'm obsessed with this Italian song from the 80s.
Her voice is amazing, from another world really. And the song is super catchy 80s style. I also really like the lyrics which are quite expressionist-ish in a way.

thougths about mograph.social [5/5]

To finish the train of thoughts:

From now on I'll try to post more stuff related to motion design, to bring some more of it in the Fediverse and to try to connect with some collegues here. Also I'll look again into creating the bots, which in the end would be useful to me as well, like a minimal rss reader of sorts.
I will also keep posting the heck I want, because yes.

It's easy to blame it on the users. It's easy to say: hey people are just lazy! They are spoiled by the overtimulation of centralised social media and so they have lost sight of the true scope of social media which should be socialising online.

But the fact is that at least if I'm offering something I'd probably better make it the best I can in the direction I envision. And only then I could declare it a failure or a success of some sort.

I have two choices: try to make the most of this instance towards motion design or keep using it the way I want as a mostly personal instance. In the first case (whcih would be the more pertinent to the original scope) I should at least start posting more about my work and maybe try to set up a couple of bots linked to some famous mograph websites. In the second scenario I'd probably better move myself on another instance.

I believe that people have some exptectations about the content and once they don't see any mograph related content they just move away. Although I'm not using this server as a content creator and I'm just offering this space to others, I think that the use I'm doing of it myself is quite out of topic, since the server has a topic (even though it is mine and I can post whatever I want, also I wouldn't mind users posting about whatever they like).

To me this server is an experiment and at the same time a way to give back to the mograph community to which I feel I owe a lot.
The point of this Mastodon server should be to connect artists and designers outside the centralised social media websites. At the moment I'm clearly using it as a personal instance and I'm not sure anymore if this is the best way to go. People tend to register and then have a look and never login ever again. [1/2]

After "merely" 10 hours of traveling I made it back home. Actually it feels much warmer here in London than on the Dolomites (obviously) and it's a very pleasant weather. Hopefully it will last the whole weekend and it will keep all the rain for Monday when I'll be back at work.

It was a really nice holiday all in all, I've seen so many spectacular natural places and my feet are still hurting from the km of hiking but it was well worth it.

It's good to be back home, though.

Yesterday I did the last hike of the holiday. I went up to 2500m at Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Dolomites. Just incredible.

I've collected some of my correspondence with people from FOSStodon to share my answers to some of the questions I see going around.

I try and answer:

- What is a "Techbro"?
- Can FOSStodon Be Saved?
- How Can This Be Solved, Beside Discussion?
- What Should FOSStodon's Moderators Learn Right now?
- What's Wrong with Kev's Apology?

That's a really tiny me hiking up the hill in the middle. ^^

rant about Google and privacy

I've just noticed that my dumbass Oneplus 3t, probably after upgrading to Android 9, has reanabled Google photos which I banned as much as I could years ago. It got reanabled and all the photos on my phone are now on Google drive.

I never thought I'd say that but it's time to get an iPhone.

Unpopular opinion?

@kev you know what's really starting to wear thin for me? trying to mask "wahh i can't use slurs" under a layer of self-importance and mall-ninja-level tough-guy shit.

"snowflakes need to learn about the real world" sorry my guy but this *is* the real world, and you're the one who can't handle it

What is this shit? a coming out of assholes on the fediverse?

Cmon macho techbros, you can try and be more intelligent than this.

What a mature way of referring to others as "snowflakes". Congrats. And not even getting the point of having pronouns on the bios I really can't believe it. And find it even annoying is a new level of dumbness, honestly.

Make murrica great again I guess.

Silenced.
