And eventually your PC grinds to a halt because Linux is too busy swapping and has no power left to kill the greedy process. But when you prevent „overcommitting“ of RAM which means Nuke can be denied a memory allocation, you’ll get an immediate segfault because it doesn’t expect that case (Nuke is a 4000€ per annum software by the way…). And then the X session gets killed as well because it too wanted some bytes of RAM.</p>

But Nuke's Inference node will make the graphics card draw way more power and it will heat it up more. indievfx<p>While checking my scene, I noticed the TC metadata was “slightly off” in my output. By few frames really which was really curious. Tracing it back up the tree, I discovered that Neat Video in OFX for <a href="https://mograph.social/tags/Nuke" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Nuke</span></a> modifies the timecode metadata. That’s both weird and concerning. Yet another reason to always redo the metadata at the end of the tree.</p>

indievfx<p>I extracted the focus info from exr/focus metadata. It works to drive the nodes as an expression but when I tried to generate the curve I got a flatline. So out of curiosity, I wrote a script in Python that does what Generate should be doing - loop in range of duration, looking at current frame and creating a key. It works. Worked fine in Nuke 13 (Qt 5.12, Python 3.7) and no longer works in <a href="https://mograph.social/tags/Nuke" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Nuke</span></a> 14 (Qt 5.15, Python 3.9) unless I connect the slot as a DirectConnection (i.e. just call a function across threads).<br />Search engines are useless for those keywords. How is one supposed to debug this?
